Village Life Wall Hanging

A wall hanging is a lovely project that is perfect for home decoration or to give as a house-warming gift. This design features a single house block, which makes it quicker to stitch than a quilt, and it would make a wonderful companion to the Village Life quilt.
Materials
• Fabric 1: ⅜yd (40cm) or ⅞yd (80cm) * – Poppyseed Basics charcoal (130182) (background)
• Fabric 2: ⅜yd (40cm) – Esther rust (100685)
• Fabric 3: about 10in (25cm) square – Poppyseed duck egg (130178)
• Fabric 4: ⅛yd (15cm) – Polka Dot ginger (160078)
• Fabric 5: ⅛yd (15cm) – Gingham yellow (160065)
• Fabric 6: about 10in (25cm) square – Tiny Dot khaki (160075)
• Fabric 7: ⅛yd (15cm) – Myrtle teal (100688)
• Fabric 8: ⅛yd (15cm) – Lillian teal (110177)
• Thin wadding (batting): ** – 19½in x 39¾in (49.5cm x 101cm) • Backing fabric: 1⅛yd (1m) – Polka Dot ginger (160078)
• Piecing and quilting threads
• Quilter’s ruler, rotary cutter and mat
• Village Life Button, Autumn colours 14mm and 16mm (400080)
• Hanging rod or stick
• String or ribbon for hanging
Fabric Notes • * If the 27½in (70cm) long pieces of Fabric 1 for the house (ii on Fig C) are cut vertically you will need ⅞yd (80cm); if they are cut horizontally then ⅜yd (40cm) would suffice. The fabric pattern for this fabric is omnidirectional, so could be rotated.
• ** Thin wadding is recommended to make sewing through several layers easier.
• Where a long eighth of a yard is given in the Materials list you could use fat eighths instead. A fat eighth is assumed to be approximately 10½in x 18in (26.7cm x 45.7cm).
